The Account Manager will play a pivotal role on their accounts, helping to organise the junior members of staff as well as managing up to keep Account Directors and Associates in the loop.

Client facing, they will oversee the day to day press office work, as well as project execution, collaborating with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of campaigns. This role also involves supporting thought leadership and providing strategic consultancy for clients navigating major industry transformations.

  • Media Relations & Strategy: Pitch and secure interviews, features, bylines, and rapid response opportunities. Develop media outreach plans, manage media calendars, and identify proactive and reactive media opportunities. Build strong media relationships across trade, tech, and national outlets.
  • Client Management: Serve as the day-to-day contact for clients, providing strategic consultancy and managing weekly status calls. Ensure timely delivery of projects and campaigns, maintaining high standards across multiple accounts.

The agency:

This role is at a multi-award-winning agency specialising in technology, offering comprehensive services in creative campaigns, marketing, and PR. The culture is rooted in courage, compassion, curiosity, candour, and commitment. Here you’ll have the autonomy to shape your career path, access to extensive training programs, and personalised talent management support. You’ll work with a diverse client base, collaborate across teams, and contribute to an inclusive culture that values innovation and growth.

While the culture is great, the standards are high. This is a company where everyone you work with will be excellent at what they do, so will suit someone who likes to work at high pace and has high standards, and would thrive working in a team where they could rely on everyone else to be the same.

The clients:

The agency works with a dynamic portfolio of clients across both B2B and consumer technology sectors, focusing on industries undergoing significant transformation.

One key client, a leader in the heating industry, is at the forefront of a shift towards sustainability. The work is split between B2B and consumer audiences. There is huge potential to be creative with this account, both in the day to day storytelling and by pitching campaigns that create major brand awareness.

For another client, a global tech company specialising in cybersecurity, you would be managing operations across EMEA, acting as a hub. The agency handles thought leadership, spokesperson briefings, and media outreach to key verticals like financial services and cybersecurity, alongside rapid response and data-driven stories.

Additional clients could include an innovative tech firm with a focus on product design and sustainability. This client provides excellent opportunities for creative storytelling, including product launches and experiential events, with a particular emphasis on brand awareness and media relations in both national and industry-specific outlets.

The agency’s clients also include global brands in enterprise software and telecommunications, where strategic media outreach, analyst relations, and thought leadership play a critical role in their communications strategy.

You:

While the agency is a great place to work, expectations and standards are high. As such, this role will suit someone who loves PR, is ambitious, proactive and who also really loves telling the story of their clients.

Key attributes include:

  • Proven experience in B2B and potentially consumer PR, with a focus on technology or a deep interest.
  • Strong media relations skills, particularly with national, tech and industry trade media.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content for both B2B and consumer audiences.
  • The ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and campaigns simultaneously, ensuring results are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • A proactive and results-focused mindset, with a passion for developing creative solutions that meet client goals.
  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to offer consultancy and guidance on media trends, news hijacking, and thought leadership opportunities.

You could have a background in journalism or an obsession with technology and how businesses succeed and operate, but ultimately you need to have the curiosity to get under the skin of the clients you work for, and become a true expert within their sector. Most importantly however, you need to be a really good account operator, ideally with a strong grounding in business to business or corporate communications at agency or in-house. Depending on clients, this role would suit a Senior Account Executive ready to step up, or an established Account Manager who wants to move to a company working at the highest level.

The agency prides itself on knowing their clients inside and out, so are able to consult, and provide counsel with gravitas to stakeholders and media alike. It’s fast paced, so you will also need to excel in managing day-to-day operations, and be highly organised. In addition, culture really matters here, so you should be a leader even at this level, taking pride in mentoring and helping to develop junior team members. The agency is collaborative and everyone has a voice – their north star being to deliver work that truly exceeds client expectations.

Why Join? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected agency working with high-profile clients across the technology, industrial, and sustainability sectors. The agency is known for its high standards of work, as well as its collaborative and inclusive culture, where creativity and strategic thinking are valued, and employees are encouraged to take ownership of their work.

As an Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead on exciting projects, from managing major product launches and industry events to shaping thought leadership in sectors undergoing significant transformation. The agency has high expectations and standards of work, but also offers a supportive environment with opportunities for professional growth, continuous learning, and career development.

Darain Faraz

Darain’s aversion to confined spaces took root during a fateful screening of ‘Buried,’ a film that immerses its audience in the gripping horror of a man awakening to find himself entombed alive. This intense fear of tight space has left an indelible mark on him. Beyond his mild-claustrophobic tendencies, Darain is also Co-founder of People Like Us, and former Director of Marketing at jobs behemoth LinkedIn internationally. Before his decade+ at LinkedIn, he resided in Australia where he ran comms for WWF’s Earth Hour, and MySpace (remember them?). He’s a regular on Marketing Week + PR Week top 100, has won a raft of industry recognition including the coveted Cannes Lions. But he’s more than his titles and his accolades, he’s a die-hard Kylie Minogue fan too. He has three lively kids and lives in Fiji (yup, you read that right). He also likes to take his shirt off at regular intervals (check out his ‘gram… or better still – don’t).

Mike Levaggi

What could be scarier than being stuck in a toilet cubicle with a wasp nest? Not much for our founder Mike (maybe having his face on a website) but definitely not making our industry fairer. He’s a northerner with Irish and Italian roots. In his 15 years in PR, he’s been a Senior Director of Assembly, head of consumer comms at Snap and a tech & gaming lead at Hope&Glory PR, winning over 50 industry awards. He’s also a former recruiter, the founder of the One Percent diversity initiative and co-founder of the PR Week Pay Gap Project. He’s been called a lot of things, but he’d call himself a problem solver.

Sheeraz Gulsher

Sheeraz has both a fear and deep fascination of life after death. To face it, he’s taking solace by learning about the origin of world religions and reading the (not so) comforting words of many philosophers. Bit deep, but he’ll be fine, we promise.

Beyond his flirting with existential crises, Sheeraz is co-founder of People Like Us, the award winning non-profit that celebrates and supports professionals from underrepresented backgrounds in journalism, PR and the creative industries. Sheeraz is also an award winning PR professional with over a decade of experience both in-house at Snapchat and Sky, and at agencies including Hope&Glory and PrettyGreen. Sheeraz is a passionate campaigner for equal pay for ethnically diverse working professionals in the UK. He will often mention the one time someone said his celebrity lookalike is Riz Ahmed but in actual fact, he looks more like Bruno Fernandes (minus the sass). Top geezer all round.
